Shirley R Fields

Shirley Rae Fields (Johnson), aged 87, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Iowa Park, Texas. Born on May 10, 1937, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Shirley led a life marked by deep connections and a spirited personality. She graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1954 and spent much of her career dedicated to public service and entrepreneurship. Shirley worked for 15 years as a secretary at Sheppard Air Force Base and later co-owned and operated Fields Fabrication & Welding Co. for 20 years.

Shirley was a woman of many passions, notably her love for travel. She explored various destinations from Branson to the Bahamas and traveled across the United States in an RV, making lasting memories with friends and family. She also traveled Europe including France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. Her witty, sometimes stubborn, personality brought joy and laughter to those around her, embodying the roles of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her husband & and best friend, Douglas H. Williams, Jr. of Iowa Park, Tx; son, Mike Minderman and wife Linda of Electra, Tx; step-son, Cary Williams and wife Teressa of Wichita Falls, Tx; grandchildren, Dane Minderman and wife Lauren of Iowa Park, Tx, Michelle Foster and husband Lucas of Justin, Tx, and Colin Williams of Wichita Falls, Tx; great-grandchildren, Abigale Minderman-Peysen, Hanah Minderman, Weston Minderman, Rylie Foster, Elise Minderman, and Casey Foster.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Dana Doyle Johnson and Ida Vera (Edgin) Johnson; siblings, Juanita Estelle Johnson Wright, Dana Vernoy Johnson, and Lee Roy Johnson; and husbands Eugene Minderman and Don Fields.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and a celebration of life on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM, both at Dutton Funeral Home, 300 East Cash Street, Iowa Park, TX 76367.
