Scott York made his grand entrance in this world on March 4, 1986 and moved into his final adventure on July 6, 2017. Scott was in born in Wichita Falls to Emma Pomerleau and Michael Layfield. Scott grew up in Iowa Park where he continued his life and served in many roles. Scott was an EMT, a Volunteer Firefighter, Groundskeeper, and a Construction Worker.
Scott is survived by his son , Connor Dean York of Alvardo, Texas; parents, Emma Pomerleau of Culpeper, Virginia and Michael Layfield of Denver, Colorado, step-father, Dan York of Iowa Park, Texas; sisters, Anna Eames of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Courtney Lawson of Ft Worth, Texas; Kristen Olivieri of Dallas, Texas; Kelsey Leo of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and brothers, Adam York of Arlington, Texas and Michael York of Oklahoma; NIBLINGS, Adyson, Zoe, Taven, Lexi, Genevieve, Lilllyana, Tyler, Ryan, Isabella, Christian, Addie and Meredith.
Scott is survived by his extended family, John Pomerleau, Doug O’Neal, Amanda Arias, Deidra O’Neal, Emily Sanchez, Madison O’Neal. Scott is also survived by an eclectic group of friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his very best friend and constant companion, Valentino; AKA Tino, Grandfather, Lindley York and Grandmother, Wanda Dickson.
Scott lived a life larger than life, he was the best practical jokester, if he took care of your home while you were away, you would come home to a complete rearrangement of the furniture, he would change your dog’s name and buy the dog new tags, and you never knew what color the food he cooked was going to be, green mac and cheese was always on the menu. Scott loved his friends, he would go out of his way to do things for them and make them feel loved. Scott viewed life as one big fun adventure and he lived every day smiling which was his favorite thing to do and those smiles lit up the world for everyone around.
There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, July 11 at 4:00 PM in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home at 300 E Cash St in Iowa Park, Texas. The family will gather after the service at 4102 Wrangler Drive, Wichita Falls, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Miss Fannie’s Friends, PO Box 9021, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308. Scott had a great love for cats as well as people.
Scott will be deeply missed by all his family and friends, his smile and his hugs will never be forgotten and Scott will be loved forever and always.
