Paul was born on October 22, 1939, to Frederick and Dovie (Gee) Morris. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Rae White on December 18, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Paul was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed taking his family camping at the lake with close friends over the years, boating, water skiing, and fishing. Paul and his wife Marilyn enjoyed Western Swing music and loved to dance. In later years, they took many trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico to the Western Swing Festival. Paul and his son enjoyed many cross-country trips on their Harley’s. Paul was devoted to caring for his wife for the past several years and would always take her Sunday dinner to enjoy the afternoon together. Paul started his days at the local coffee shop with his buddies and then ended the day with the 4 o’clock coffee gossip session with the same group of buddies. Paul was a long-time Mason, current member of Lodge 713 of Iowa Park. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by parents Fred and Dovie Morris, Meda Roberts, sister Maggie Pendergrass, son Scott Morris, daughter Rae Lynn Edenfield, and great-grandson Karson Sutton.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Marilyn Morris of Wichita Falls, Texas; his daughter Karla and husband Steve of Bowie, Texas; daughter-in-law Pat Morris of Iowa Park; brothers J.C. Morris and Frank Morris of Iowa Park. Grandchildren Nathan, Dustin, and Adam Morris, Saige Yarbrough, Christopher Hamilton, Jason Herron, Jennifer Stark, Stephanie Self, Joshua Herron, Brittanie Herron, and Troy Edenfield, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
A visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dutton Funeral Home, 300 E Cash St, Iowa Park, Texas 76367. A chapel funeral service will occur Monday, March 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Dutton Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Highland Cemetery, 862 Rogers Rd. Iowa Park, Texas 76367.
