Omer Leon Fulfer Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Mr. Fulfer was born August 11, 1923 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Fred Adams and Noma Ruth Fields Fulfer. He served three years in WWII with the 705 Quartermaster Battalion Company East in Fort Jackson, S.C. He was shipped to England and was in the invasion of France at Normandy Beachhead, the Battle of the Bulge at Belgium, and the entering of Berlin, Germany. He married Eula Preston on July 13, 1946 in Henrietta, Texas. He was self-employed as the owner/operator of Fulfer Well Service which he started in 1957 and was an independent oil producer. He served on the Valley View School Board from 1963 to 1970. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

His parents, sister, Pearl Young, brothers, Reford, F.A. “Fat”, Charles and Bobby and a son, Omer “Lon” Leon, Jr. preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Fulfer of Valley View; daughters, Linda McQuerry of Valley View, Joyce Overstreet of Waurika, Oklahoma, Paula Reid of Valley View, Elizabeth Vanek and husband, Ricky of Valley View and Leann Venable and husband, Steve of Wichita Falls; sisters, Betty Glasgow, Helen Fulfer and Shirley Sadberry; brothers Jon Fulfer, Jerry Fulfer, Robert Fulfer and W.H. “Sonny” Fulfer; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to American Hospice, 4210 Kell Blvd., Suite 211, Wichita Falls, TX 76309.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, March 4, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel.
