

Max Orvle Solomon, Sr., 89, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
Max was born October 3, 1925 in Devol, Oklahoma to John H. and Clara (Culwell) Solomon. He and Marsha (Horton) Solomon were married May 21, 1959 in Wichita Falls. Max served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0120 for 61 years. He was an employee of the former State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for 25 years. After his retirement from the State, he worked at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park for 10 years. Max was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park where he served as a deacon and Sunday School class officer.
Max was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marsha, in 2013; his parents; four brothers, Lewis, Roy, John and Glen. He is survived by his children, Max Solomon Jr and wife Cheryl of Wichita Falls, Mark Solomon of Iowa Park, Michelle Solomon of Fort Worth and Melinda Solomon of Iowa Park; a grandson Eric Solomon; a great-granddaughter, Isabella; several nieces and nephews and special friends from Faith Baptist Church.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Wichita Falls home CNA Shandra and Center nurses Ellen and Jennifer, for the wonderful care given to our father during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Church building fund or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
