Lida Mae Browning

Lida was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Gross on January 13, 1934 in Bee Springs, Kentucky. She married Willie Browning on March 15, 1952 in Bee Springs. In 1959, they moved to Iowa Park, Texas.

Lida worked several places but lastly, at the Iowa Park High School where she was known to all as “Grandma.” She worked until she was forced to retire due to health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lavina “Kay” Calvin; and three great grandbabies.

She is survived by two sisters, Bessie of Louisville, Kentucky and Wiledean of Evansville, Indiana; two sons, Lannie and wife, Sue of Iowa Park; and Eddie and wife, Katrena of Wichita Falls; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the funeral home from 6 PM to 8 PM. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in Lida Browning’s name.
