Larry Wayne Parks

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park, with Rick Davis, Pastor, officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening, February 16, 2016, at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Larry was born on October 23, 1941 in Mountain View, Arkansas to J.C. Parks and wife, Maxine (Hager) Parks. He married Freda Joyce Brewer on February 2, 1964, in Mineral Wells, Texas. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Korea. Larry retired in 2006 as a technician with Honeywell, Inc. He enjoyed working and in 2008 until the time of his death, he joined his son, Cody as co-owner of The Pit Stop in Iowa Park. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Park and member of the United Methodist Men and the Wings Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his sons.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Parks Dobson.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Parks and 2 sons, Kevin and Cody, all of Iowa Park; 5 grandchildren, Justin and Ashton Parks, Darcie Crane and Wade Duggins, and Colten Parks; and 1 great grandchild, Samuel Poulter, as well as many beloved family members who loved and cherished him.

Memorials are suggested by the family to First United Methodist Church sanctuary renovation fund, or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
