Retired Master Sergeant Jonathan Dressler, Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Iowa Park. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary House officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
Jonathan was born January 4, 1931 in Coal Township in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania to Jonathan Levi Dressler, Sr. and Caroline (Davies) Dressler. He retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant and worked in the NATO Training Program at Sheppard Air Force Base. He married Nancy Zimmerman in 1951 and was married 46 years prior to her death. He married Ruby Clements on August 3, 2001. He was a joyful man who was proud of his service to his country. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy Dressler; sister, Delores LaCroix; stepson, Richard Ervin; and two step-grandsons, Brendan Ervin and Dillon Nicholson.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Ruby Dressler of Iowa Park; two daughters, Amy L. Gavin and husband, Howard of Krum, Texas and Diane Willard and husband, John of Royal Oak, Michigan; one son, Jonathan Ray Dressler of Iowa Park; two stepdaughters, Lynda C. Halstead and Patricia A. Cray and husband, Mike all of Wichita Falls; two stepsons, James D. Ervin and wife, Karon, and Darel W. Ervin all of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Ray Dressler, II; Amber Dawn Dressler; and Jennifer Michelle Gavin; 10 step grandchildren, Matthew Halstead, Brian Skelton, Chris Cray, Charles Cray, Ashley Thacker, Ryan Thacker, Jeffery Ervin, Justin Ervin, Jacob Ervin, and Bethany Ervin; 4 great grandchildren; and 13 step-great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park Building Fund. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the funeral home.
