Janey "Meta" Loveta Graves

Janey Loveta "Meta" Graves, 92, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Electra, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Electra with Charles Nichols officiating. Graveside services will follow at Electra Memorial Park in Electra, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until service time at the church. Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas.

Meta was born June 18, 1923 in Electra, Texas to Emmett and Lizzie (Green) Tunnel. She was a lifetime resident of Electra where she graduated from Electra High School in 1941. She married Henry Ford "Bill" Graves on June 21, 1942 in Electra. Meta was a homemaker who was very active in the First Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member. She taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed traveling and camping with Bill. Meta enjoyed cooking and painting. She was an amazing woman and a "super fine" Christian.

Meta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronnie Graves; 9 siblings; and one grandson, Jacob Simonds.

Surviving relatives include her two daughters, Janie Kimbrew of Harrold, Texas and D'Ann Simonds of Lumberton, Texas; grandson, Jeremy Graves of Electra, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Electra.
