James "Jim" F. Adams

James F. Adams was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas with Dr. Derrel Monday officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the funeral home.

Jim was born to Archie Harold and Alma (Barnett) Adams on August 29, 1934 in Westover, Texas. He married Barbara (Foshee) on August 14, 1953 in Munday, Texas. He has been a resident of Iowa Park since 1960.

Jim retired from TXU in 1992 as an Associate Engineer Technician after 33 years. Outside of his profession, Jim was a member of First Baptist Church. He was ordained as a Deacon on April 18, 1971. He served as a Deacon for 40 plus years. Jim loved his church family. Some of his fondest memories are when he and several other members went to Colorado to help build new churches.

No matter where Jim went, he was always asking those he encountered if they knew the Lord. He loved to share the plan of salvation with anyone who was willing to listen.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara; two daughters, Rhonda Armstrong and husband Billy, and Stacia Arredondo and husband Horacio, all of Iowa Park; three grandchildren, Adam Arredondo and wife Stevi of Seymour, Texas; Serena Criswell and husband Rusty; Mitchell Armstrong and wife Jessica, all of Iowa Park; as well as six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
