Jackie Eugene Hodges, 84, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Iowa Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home.
Jackie was born September 25, 1932 in Bowie, Texas to Grover Cleveland and Daphna (Cutrell) Hodges. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army during the Korean War. Jackie married the love of his life, Barbara Tatom, on September 28, 1957 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He was owner and operator of Hodges Well Service for 32 years. He served the Iowa Park Little League for many years, and was an active member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park where he served on the Van Committee and was active in the Senior Adults. Jackie loved fishing, hunting, growing and nurturing pecan trees. He was known as Ace to many and Papa to his grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, M.L. Hodges; and sons, Bob and Billy Hodges.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann Hodges; brother, Norman Hodges and wife, Janice; sister, Joyce Perkins; grandchildren, Ginger Hodges; Heath Hodges and wife, Malorie; Hagen Duncan and wife, Michea; and Denea' Duncan; great grandchildren, Halli Hodges; Ava Hodges; Harper Hodges; Jacelyn Woodard and Hinley Duncan; daughters-in-law, Charmagne Kingcade and husband, Tim and Cathy Thomason and husband, Tim; and many close family members and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
