Bruce was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Annie Mae Shirley and Horace James Mowery.
When Bruce was younger he enjoyed a number of outdoor activities including: fishing, camping, sports, gardening and riding his bicycle.
Bruce was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was a beloved family man who loved his family. He was known as a very hard worker and was recognized with several awards by his employers for his dedication. One hobby he enjoyed was visiting friends and family.
Bruce is survived by his daughter Mindy Carriger (Dannie) of Archer City, Texas; his daughter Christy Richardson (Flint) of Knox City, Texas; and his daughter Stephanie Sitz (Kaven) of Wichita Falls, Texas; his sister Susan Rogers (Terry) of Wichita Falls, Texas, his sister Carolyn Boyster (Jack) of Paducah, Kentucky, his brother Cecil David Loyd of Wichita Falls, Texas, his sister Barbara Ross of Buda, Texas, his brother John Wayne Loyd of Wichita Falls, Texas, his brother Eldron Loyd (Mindy) of Holliday, Texas, his sister Cynthia Bohrer (Carl) of Canyon Lake, Texas and his brother Calvin Loyd of Stephenville, Texas.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Janice Mowery; his father Horace James Mowery, his mother Annie Mae Camper, and his sister Shirley Ann Braziel.
Bruce also leaves 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Dutton Funeral Home, 300 E Cash St, Iowa Park, Texas 76367, followed by a chapel funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Bruce will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, 826 Rogers Rd, Iowa Park, Texas 76367-6900.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bruce’s honor to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church 880 Huntington Ln, Wichita Falls, TX 76305.
