Gerald was born on February 5, 1935 to Dewey Stone and Mary Hatter in Seymour, Texas. He married Sandra Ann Roark on July 13, 1956 in Kamay, Texas. Together they had 3 children, Brenda, Lisa and Jeff. He worked as a mechanic for 60 years and owned his own shop specializing in Volkswagen mechanics.
When Gerald was younger he enjoyed a number of outdoor activities including: water sports, scuba diving, tennis, camping, cycling, motorcycling, riding dune buggies, and boating. He also enjoyed bowling with his wife and his family “Coffee Club”. He also love his backhoe who was affectionately called his “tinker toy”.
Gerald was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park. He loved his church and was a sunday school teacher for a number of years. He was a beloved family man who loved his family, especially his grandkids.
Gerald is preceeded in passing by his parents Dewey and Mary Stone; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers
Surviving relatives include his wife of 66 years, Sandra Stone; daughter Brenda Stone; daughter Lisa San Miguel and husband Randy; son Jeff Stone and wife Felicia; sister Barbara Douglas; Grandchildren Laci Ray and husband Mike; Kayla Lalumia and husband Clancy; Lindy Flowers and husband Trevor; Andrew McCoy; Whitney Morath and husband Spencer; Leah Whitaker and husband Brady; and Jacob Stone; great-grandchildren Baylie Casteel and husband Dallas; Rylie Miller and wife Bella; Cy Lalumia; Korvin Lalumia; Sadie Lalumia; Raylen Flowers; Cash Flowers; Laykin Whitaker; Lyndi Whitaker; Brayden Whitaker; Beau Morath; and Brynlee Morath; and great great grandson Tony Miller
A funeral service is set for 10 am on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with burial following the service at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas.
