Garland Ray “Rusty” Rusk was born October 13, 1930, Randlett, OK. to Christopher and Lula (Rogers) Rusk. Rusty attended Union Valley School, Randlett, OK. Class of 1949
Rusty married Charlene (Catlin) Rusk October 13, 1951. They made their home in Iowa Park and devoted their life to their three beautiful children and their businesses. Everyone knew him as a hardworking man, Rusty’s passion in life was working to provide for his family. He spent long hours working on drilling rigs, owning and operating Park Tank Truck Services with his wife and family, farming and ranching, Operating his leases, hunting with his buddies, sharing his stories and cracking his jokes. He was involved with his community and served on the Iowa Park School District Board of Trustees from 1977-1986, enjoyed volunteering with the Iowa Park Muleskinners, member of Masonic Lodge 713, and was a Noble of the Maskat Shrine for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Charlene (Catlin) Rusk; son Gary Rusk and wife, Brenda Rusk of Iowa Park, sister Valene Corbin of Hurst TX, Grandchildren Sandy Lalk and husband, Trevor, Sally Harlow and husband, Josh, Justin Rusk and wife, April, Dustin Rusk and wife, Brianne, Colby Rusk and wife, Heather, Kyle Porter and wife, Kristy, Jordan Haggart, Brady Rusk and wife, Emily, Grant Haggart, Bryer Rusk, Georgia Haggart and 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents Christopher and Lula (Rogers) Rusk, brothers Billy Rusk and John Hunt, son Billy Keith Rusk, daughter Judy Haggart, and grandson Wesley Porter, and great granddaughter Zoey Harlow.
