Ethel Marie “Scotty” Cook, 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in Iowa Park, Texas. Services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Iowa Park Church of Christ with Mr. Bill Lockwood officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 7 to 8 P.M. Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park.
“Scotty” was born May 28, 1931 in Jackson Springs, Texas, to Val Lorenzo and Roma Ethel (Streety) Scott. She married Ray Dean Cook on August 13, 1949 in Henrietta, Texas. They moved to Iowa Park in 1960. She worked as Senior Cashier/Bookkeeper for American General Insurance Company and retired with over 25 years service. She loved the Church, her family and singing. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and oil painting.
“Scotty” is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Doris Arp, of Ropesville, Texas.
Survivors include her children, Deana Custis, Kim Threet and husband, Leroy, Ray Alan Cook and wife, Robin, all of Iowa Park; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Skeeler, Melissa Threet, Lindsey Cook and Leslie Williams; 6 great grandchildren, Drew Skeeler, Tyler Skeeler, Brittany Hollis, Abi Skeeler, Carson Skeeler, and Nathaniel Williams; and 3 great-great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Ethan, and Madden Skeeler; and a brother, Veon Scott, of College Station, Texas.
If desired, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
