Billy was born on December 25, 1943, to Lonnie and Florence Beavers in Wichita Falls, TX. Billy graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1962.
In 1966, Billy met Wanda Splawn, the love of his life, and married June 10, 1966. Billy and Wanda went on to have 2 daughters, Dena Marie and Jody Christine.
Billy was predeceased by both of his parents Lonnie and Florence Beavers, his brother Lonnie Joe Beavers, and wife Wanda Beavers. He is survived by his brother, Jimmy Beavers, daughters Dena and husband Tim Grisham; Jody and husband Mike Waksmunski; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
When Billy was not working hard out at his farm, he was devoting himself to his family and was serving his community by meeting any needs that he saw. One of his favorite activities was spending quality time with grandkids. Billy was a faithful member who served as an usher and on the security team at Faith Baptist Church for 38 years. His love for the Lord was evident to everyone he encountered. He loved greeting others and spoiling all the children. He was known as the “grandpa of the block”. Billy loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing. He spent many years doing what he loved with his friends and family out in Colorado and all over Texas. His life stories captivated all who listened. Billy was a kind, comforting, and warm presence to all.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, at 6:00 pm at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas, with a celebration of life will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park, Texas, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
