Betty was born on April 10, 1932, in Wilbarger County, a daughter of the late Bradford and Annie Mae Neel. She married Hoyt Watson on May 11, 1950. He passed away September 24, 1984. Mrs. Watson resided in Iowa Park until three and a half years ago, when she moved to House of Hope in Wichita Falls. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
Survivors include her 3 children, son, Dr. Stephen Watson and his wife Karen of Granbury, daughter, Shelia Gholson and her husband Jackie of Iowa Park, and son Stanley Watson and wife Charla of Kamay, 1 brother, Clayton Neel, 6 sisters, Sandra Sullivan, Sally Rallis, Mary Maddin, Thelma Smith, Deloris Nethery, and Nona Perrin, 6 grandchildren, Jamie Shipp and her husband Jeff of Iowa Park, Lindsey Watson of Granbury, Heath Gholson and his wife Rachel of Wichita Falls, Zach Watson of Austin, Caleb Watson and his wife Ashton of Kama, and Colbey Watson of Abilene, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jacey Shipp, Jentry Shipp, Julia Gholson, Calen Watson, and Tanner Gholson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers; Presley, Joe, and Bradford (Junior) Neel, and a sister; Loretta Turner.
Memorials may be made to House of Hope, Presbyterian Manor Building Fund, and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
