It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, cousin and co-worker, Wendy C (MacDougall) Lanceleve on March 23, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Wendy was born on April 29, 1949 to Alex and Margaret (Beaton) MacDougall at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Margaret, and grandson, Ty John Lanceleve.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Louis Lanceleve; sons, Victor (Joy) Lanceleve, Louie (Marie) Lanceleve and daughter, Margie (Robert) Clark; brothers, Danny (Kathleen) MacDougall, Sandy (Rosalie) MacDougall and Billy (Mary) MacDougall; sister in-law, Chlory (Gordon) Maclean; grandchildren, Adam (Erica), Colby (Alex), Breanna (Ryan), Bobbi (JC), Reid (Aly), Becca (Brian), Carson and Jake; great grandchildren, Myla, David, Jessi, Caden and Rose-Ellen. Along with many special nieces, nephews, aunts and uncle.
Wendy was truly one of a kind. She had the ability to make everyone whose path she crossed feel incredibly special, from children and grandchildren to those who she cared for and worked with at the Inverary Manor - where she was employed for 33 years. She touched many hearts during those years by the way she showed her true-self while caring for others, dedication to making those around her better and having the ability to bring smiles to both her residents and co-workers faces.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her loyalty, her beautiful smile and sense of fun. Each day, her family hopes to be a little bit more like her and continue her legacy of the wonderful qualities she displayed in her everyday life.
A special thank you to Dr. Ritter, Dr. Egar, Lori Ann, Lyndsey and the staff at Inverness Hospital, Inverary Manor, Foyer Père Fiset and Homecare Services for the special care and support they provided.
Visitation will take place in Inverness Funeral Home on Friday May 19th from 3-7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Saturday May 20th at 11am. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
