

MacDougall, Tracey (MacDonell) - 35, of Foot Cape Road, passed on to her place in Heaven peacefully on August 3, 2010. She was a loving and caring wife to Francis MacDougall, mother to Addison Jennifer, and daughter to Ian and Mary Jane (Kennedy) MacDonell of Mabou.
Tracey will always be remembered in everyone’s hearts for her strong devotion to the Catholic faith, her unconditional love of family and laughter, her generosity of spirit, and her courage to face uneven odds with relentless strength. Her passion for life has been and always will be an inspiration to many who knew her. She always took the time to listen to people, never left anyone out, and had a real commitment to serving her community and putting others’ needs before her own.
She was a graduate of Mabou Consolidated School in 1993, followed by a Business degree from St. Mary’s University in 1998. She was employed with the East Coast Credit Union, Inverness branch. Over the past four years, Tracey often said she felt her life was complete because she had everything she wanted and more: a loving husband, a beautiful daughter, a caring family and a career she held a strong passion for.
She is survived by aforementioned husband, Francis and daughter, Addison; parents, Ian and Mary Jane, Mabou; sister, Lori Anne (Tim) Henneberry, Allendale; brothers, Ian (Lisa), Island Lake, MB; Calum, Halifax; Shamus, Southend, SK; nieces, Victoria and Catherine Henneberry, Allendale; Maternal Grandmother, Kaye Kennedy, Mabou; Paternal Grandmother, Peggy MacDonell, Mabou. She was predeceased by her Maternal Grandfather, Joseph Kennedy; Paternal Grandfather, John Angus MacDonell.
Tracey’s family would like to thank all those near and far who sent their support and offered comfort through this very difficult time.
The wake will be held Thursday, 7-9 p.m., Friday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mabou. The funeral will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mabou, and will be officiated by Father Angus Morris.
Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Mabou. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Stomach Cancer research, the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or Central Inverness Palliative Care Society. An education fund has also been set up at the East Coast Credit Union, Mabou Branch for daughter Addison Jennifer.
