It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Teresa Marie (Osborne) Moran, 73 years old of River Centre, Nova Scotia, which occurred in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on February 24, 2024.
Born on July 1,1950 in Glace Bay, Mom was brought into the loving home of Sandy Jim and Lizzie MacDonald of Port Hood, where she was raised from an infant.
Mom and Dad got married on July 14, 1973 and started their family. While Dad worked, Mom stayed home as a full time wife and mother.
Mom had a fierce love of music. There was nothing she loved more than a good fiddle tune. She was extremely talented and she could literally play any instrument you put in front of her. Mom also loved to step dance and didn’t pass up a chance to show us her steps.
She also loved photography and she took some amazing pictures over the last number of years. Some of her work is proudly displayed in her own home and her daughter’s home and amongst other family and friends. Mom was also an avid animal lover and had several of her own over the years. There wasn’t an animal that she didn’t love or want to take home. She was a big supporter of the local animal rescues and societies.
There wasn’t anything Mom couldn’t do. She could tackle any job that needed to be done and she could drive Dad’s old GMC truck better than he could. In the summer, you’d hear her burning the tires off Dad’s old Dodge Coronet at the intersection by DFer’s Garage or making us kids follow her to the blueberry field to pick berries in the scorching sun before heading to the beach.
Mom could speak some Gaelic, but she would mostly just teach us all the bad words.
Mom also took good care of her mother-in-law, Katie, when she became ill with Alzheimer’s. She did that for several years before she passed.
When us kids got older, Mom decided to work a bit outside of the home to pass the time and regain some independence.
Mom had tremendous faith and she was a member of the CWL in Port Hood for many years. She also volunteered when she could.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Blaise; daughter, Stephanie (Joey), Antigonish; son Del (Fushia), River Center; grandchildren, Meghan and Katelynn, Halifax, Emily, Antigonish; step grandchildren, Liam, Halifax and Nolan, Antigonish; brother, Archie (Crash) MacDonald, Port Hood; brothers-in-law, Richie (Maria) and Archie Moran, both of Port Hood; sister-in-law, Norma MacIntyre, Port Hood; and her nieces and nephews, Paul, Kerry Anne, Nadine, Lydia, Cedie, Kirk, Jason and Dean and their families. She will also be missed by her dear friend, Mary Ellen Fraser, Port Hood and all the Cabral family from Massachusetts and many other extended family members and friends that’s she’s made over the years.
Besides her parents, Sandy Jim and Lizzie, she was predeceased by her brother, Terrance MacIntyre, Port Hood, sister-in-law, Theresa MacDonald, Port Hood and parents-in-law, Richard and Katie (Campbell) Moran, Port Hood.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held in Port Hood and Area Resting Place on Friday, March 1st, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Her celebration of life will be held in St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 at 11am.
A lunch will be provided at the Port Hood Parish Hall after the service.
Burial to be held at a later date.

She walked with the universe on her
