Robbie is survived by his wife, Ruby Spears of 54 years, son Eddie (Cindy), daughters, Jeannie and Lisa. Grandchildren, Vanessa (Blaze), Colton (Keisha), Lakyon (Evan John), Axyle (Brooklyn), Harley, Dakota and Saylor. Great Grandchildren, Jerzee, Jazmyn, Jaylah and Tiana.
Robbie was predeceased by his father, Eddie (Doc), mother, Jessie and brothers Charlie and John.
Robbie was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
Robbie worked in his early years in the mines in Ontario until he returned to his roots in Cape Breton where he belonged. Robbie worked for MacInnis Irving for over 40 years until his illness forced him to retire.
Robbie always enjoyed a good Scottish tune by his favorites such as Ashley MacIssac and the late Buddy MacMaster.
Robbie will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his jokes, stories and classic one liners.
There were many a car and a boat in town that Robbie maintained also known for his undercoating, and fine work on carburetors and radiators.
Robbie always had a soft spot for his grandchildren. They could always count on a sweet treat that he always had tucked away in a secret hiding spot in the shed.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Inverary Manor, Harbour Lights Villa for the exceptional care during the time of his stay.
A special thank you to Kim Poirier for all the support and care during his final days, words cannot express the gratitude.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday July 15. Funeral Service will be held in St. Matthews United Church, Inverness, NS on Tuesday July 16 at 11 am with Pastor Maggie Plant celebrating. Burial to follow in St John's United Cemetery, Strathlorne.
