With great sadness, the family of Becky Beaton announces her passing on Monday, May 14, 2018, at the age of 36.
Becky was a graduate of Mabou Consolidated School, St. Francis Xavier University and Nova Scotia Community College. From the earliest age, Becky understood how to be a friend to all. She was well-known for remembering names, thinking of others before herself and never having a bad word to say against anyone. Becky had a welcoming presence that lit up a room, and her light will be forever missed.
Becky loved music, she loved to travel, she loved her little nephew and niece and she loved the family dogs. Her home was always open to visitors. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, she faced it with courage and a determination to beat it. She continually exceeded medical expectations. When told that she had only weeks, she made them months. When told that she only had days, she made them weeks. She wanted to live, and she made herself a living miracle for as long as her body and her will were capable. She amazed us all.
Becky died at home on Mabou Ridge on a warm, quiet morning with her family by her side. She is survived by her parents Neil and Marion (Campbell); sisters Katie (Morgan), Maura (Dan) and Laureen (Casey); nephew Malcolm and niece Lucy; and fiancé Ryan Murphy. Becky will be always remembered by her many cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
