Mom had a great love for the Scottish music, bag pipes, and dance. She was well-known for saying "It's a waste of good music if your not dancing" and how she loved to dance.
Mom was very much a social butterfly. At her time at the manor, she enjoyed playing bingo, cards and find the ace, as well as enjoying the numerous social events throughout the years,
She loved having friends and family in her home where she enjoyed very spirited card games and especially loved it when she and our aunts would beat Dad and his brothers. She always made sure there was always a good, hot cup of tea with a tasty lunch where you could always find her delicious biscuits, Rice Krispie balls, chocolate balls and award winning apple pie. Her motto was always, " don't ask them if they want a cup of tea, just make it".
Mom carried a deep devotion to her faith and the Holy Mass which was always very comforting to her.
Funeral services are under the direction of the Inverness Funeral Home.
Those wishing to donate in Mom's memory can do so to the Inverary Manor, Stella Maris Building or Cemetery Fund or Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
At this time we would like to thank the staff of Inverary Manor. With special thanks to the Oceanview Villa team whom Mom loved, and cherished the special friendships she had with each and everyone of you. She was always so grateful for your friendship.
We would also like to thank Dr. Raymond Lok, Dr. Siva Thanamayooran, Dr. John Ritter and Lori Ann MacDonald for the excellent care they provided.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 2:00 p.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Dan MacDonald officiating.
Mom was the rock and matriarch of our family and we cannot imagine life without her. She will be forever loved. RIP Mom, until we meet again.
