Myrna Cecelia White

White, Myrna Cecelia Age 84 passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born in Port Hood on July 4, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Emma (Reynolds) Murphy. Myrna was a member of St. Stephen’s/Jubilee United Church, Port Hood. She worked for customs in Halifax and Sydney before returning home to Port Hood to live with her sister. Myrna was an avid swimmer and loved to take her nieces and nephews to the shores of Port Hood. She is survived by her sister, Bernice O’Laughlin, Cregnish, and stepdaughters, Barbara and Elaine; several nieces and nephews. Myrna is predeceased by her husband, William; sisters, Lurline, Gwen, Mildred and Katheline; brothers, Kenny and Bowden Murphy. Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8th, at 2 p.m. in St. Stephen’s/Jubilee United Church, Port Hood with Pastor Maggie Plant celebrating. Burial in Union Protestant Cemetery, Port Hood. No flowers please, memorial donations may be made to Inverary Manor, Inverness or to a charity of your choice.
