MacDonald, John Alexander – 61, of Little Judique, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday December 2nd, 2010. Born on January 27, 1949, in Glencoe, he was the son of the late Mary Ann (MacInnis) and the late Robert MacDonald. John A. was an employee of Stora Forest Industries and later New Page Corporation as a carry lift operator. John moved to Little Judique in 1976 and raised his family there. He had a fondness for the great outdoors, travelling throughout Cape Breton’s beautiful scenery on his beloved 4-wheeler and discussing old time stories on regular visits with his many friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (MacDonell); his son, Robert, of Little Judique; his daughter, Jana MacDonald and her husband, Dane Rowsell, Hamilton; his brother, Charlie (Claire) , Skye Glen; his sister, Josephine (Finley) Beaton, Westville; and last surviving uncle, Dan Charlie MacDonald, Port Hood; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ann Marie MacDonald and Tina MacDonald; and brother, Allan. Visitation will be in the Port Hood & Area Resting Place on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be on Tuesday, December 7th at 11 a.m. in St.Andrew’s Parish, Judique. Burial to follow in parish cemetery. Donations can be made to the Judique Volunteer Fire Department or the St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery Fund, Judique.
