With deep sadness we announce our sister Jackie passed away peacefully after an extremely courageous battle with cancer on October 30 2023 at the age of 59.
Jackie is predeceased by her parents Alex and Catherine MacNeil.
Survived by her sibling Danita , Brian and Ian.
She was a loving Aunt to Victoria, Danielle, Alison, Rebecca, Sandy and Kendall and
Great aunt to Ethan, Ella, Emmett, Eiah, Eliyah, Macie, Kelton, Keegan and Sophia
Jackie lived everyday of her life to the fullest. Her laugh was infectious and her sense of humour was full of fun and high spirited.
She was passionate about astrology and enjoyed analyzing family and friends birth charts.
The kitchen was a happy place for Jackie. She took great pride in whipping up a little scoff and sharing a meal and a glass of wine with family and friends.
She found comfort sitting on the beach listening to the waves as she watched the sunset.
Jackie lived her life in Sudbury Ontario. She was the owner of a successful medical cleaning company. Jackie closed her business to fulfill her mother's desire of returning home to Mabou.
Jackie dedicated the last seven years caring for our beloved mother. With courage, strength and determination, she continued this care during the past year; all while she battled her own illness with with cancer. She never lost hope.
Heartfelt thanks to Arlene MacNeil for the light and laughter she brought into Jackie’s life; the support and love of the Halloran’s; and to Donna Doiron for her guidance, kindness and loyalty. Special thank you to the Dr. Binnersley and Inverness Hospital nursing staff, Dr. Ritter and Lori Ann MacDonald for their compassionate and exceptional care of Jackie throughout her journey.
Visitation will be held in St Mary's Church, Mabou on Saturday, November 4 from 10-10:45am with funeral Mass to follow at 11am. Fr Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial to following in the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to St Mary's Parish Cemetery Fund.
