It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our son, Isaac James Goswell, age 17, of Port Hood on July 20, 2024. Isaac was the oldest son of Kailah Spears and Tyler Goswell. Protector to his younger siblings, Isaac was the beloved brother to Jake, Halli and Eve.
Born March 29, 2007 in Antigonish, Isaac came into this world an adventurist. No obstacle stood in his way, and nothing stopped him from doing what he had his mind set to do.
Isaac spent his time between Port Hood and Fall River, making friends no matter where he was. He cherished his time with his buddies, hanging out at bonfires and swimming in lakes. You could always find him outdoors, especially riding dirt bikes and four wheelers –no matter the weather. He loved rod fishing at the pond and lobster fishing with his uncles, Gary, David, Brandon and his Grampie. Isaac also enjoyed spending time with his younger siblings. Building forts in the woods and scootering with Jake, jumping off the boat and collecting shells with Halli and playing barbies and coloring with “Oudie” aka, Eve.
Isaac had a shy smile that was so contagious, the deepest precious blue eyes that calmed hearts and arms to wrap a hug so tight. Isaac always started conversations with a funny hello or a joke such as “Going on Bahh” or “Cmon Cmon”. He was ever so charming with his timid but spunky personality that made him so loveable.
Isaacs dream career was to become a mechanic. His love for fixing things came naturally. Even at the age of 17, Isaac had a knack for anything mechanical. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, full heartedly. You could always count on him to fix anything with a motor.
Isaac's first love was his mom, Kailah, to whom he thought the world of. They shared a special bond in the short time he was here. His other first loves were his siblings, Jake, Halli and Eve, whom he cherished deeply. He also shared a special bond with his dad, Tyler, to whom he looked up to and enjoyed fishing and fixing things any chance they got. Isaac also had a special place in his heart for his Grams and Grampie who have also played a vital role throughout his life. Growing up, Isaac had a close connection with his cousin Jackson, never finding one without the other.
Isaac is survived by his parents, Kailah (Ryan) and Tyler (Rebecca); and siblings, Jake, Halli and Eve; grandparents, “Grams and Grampie” (Helen and Cecil Spears) and “Grandpa and Grandma” (Kevin and Ellen Goswell); uncles, Gary (Suzanne), Brandon, David (Savanna), Justin and Paul; aunt and Godmother Sharlene (Steve); cousins, Katie (Tyrel), Baillie (Colin), Cole (Emily), Jackson, Kymber, Tia, Charlie, Beau, Nora and his Godfather, Bernie.
There are too many friends to mention individual names. Isaac was so loved and left an ever-lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, close buddies Jeremy and Zach, and lifelong friends Gavin and Hailey.
Visitation will be held in Port Hood and Area Resting Place from 2-4 and 7-9pm on July 29th 2024. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on July 30th 2024 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Hood. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Isaac's name may be made to the IWK Health Centre, Halifax.
