Passed away peacefully in Inverary Manor, Inverness surrounded by her family on January 18th, 2024 at the age of 92.
Helen was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. She will be missed by her children, Bill (Dawn), Linda (Brian), Barb (Will), Mary Ellen (Robert), Steven (Lori), Bruce (Karrie); sister, Mildred Johnson,Brother, Winston(Jeannine) Marple, grandchildren, Mathieu, Melanie, Billy, McKenzie, Indiana, Evan and John, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and an Inverness icon. A friend to all, kind, loving, creative, helpful and generous...a blessing to have in your life. Guaranteed anytime you walked into mom's "Ma" house there would be a pot of tea on, a crib board and cards on the table. She was always ready to have a game no matter if you were 5 years old or 99. She loved her bingo and cards. In the past, mom was very involved in the community through her volunteer work with the Legion, Fire Dept and Stella Maris Parish Church.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Brenda and her husband Dwight brothers, Ralph, Jackie, Richard; sister, Christena; and her parents, John and Chrissy Marple.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday January 21, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday January 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove. Burial to be held at a later date in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Inverness Firehall.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Helen may be made to Stella Maris Church Furnace Fund.
