Douglas Andrew Campbell, Age 88, of Glencoe Station, Port Hood, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, on March 10, 2015. Born in Glencoe Station, he was a son of the late John A. and Margaret (MacDonell) Campbell. He worked as a mechanic in Ontario, New York and then returned to Glencoe Station with his wife, Mary, where they built their home. In 2007, he moved to Port Hood where he spent two years at the residence of Catherine Jane and Francis Gillis where he was well cared for, and from there he went to the Inverary Manor in Inverness where he spent his remaining years. He is survived by his brothers, Father Don (D.C) Campbell, New York; James (Joyce), Toronto, Ont.; his sisters, Mary (Richard) MacPhail, Winnipeg, Man.; Sandra (Neil) MacKinnon, Medway, Mass. He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Mary Belle, who passed in 1995, and brothers, Jerome who passed in 2001, and Donald Colin who passed at 4 months old. Visiting hours will be at the Port Hood & Area Resting Place, on Sunday, March 15, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church, Port Hood, at 11a.m., Monday, March 16. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to the Inverary Manor, Inverness, or any charity of your choice.
