It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Darlene Campbell on November, 20, 2018, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Born in Inverness on October 7, 1958 to Buddy and the late Molly Timmons; Wife of Angus L. Campbell; she leaves heart felt memories to her children, Andrea (Jonathan) Beaton and Keegan (Alissa MacDougall) Campbell; grandchildren, David, and Tyler Beaton, who were all the spark in her life. Also sharing her memories are brothers and sisters, Jim (Kay), Charlotte (Ken) Dalton, the late Marlene (Paul) Holmes, Murray (Bonnie), Edy (Rick) Hesse, Sandy (Cathy), Wilma (Gerard Cummings); Loving Aunts, Uncles, In-Laws and many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. Always one to organize and assist, Darlene held many an appointment. From a dedicated employee of the Inverness Raceway for over 28 years to family gatherings going off without a hitch, and to the town of Inverness itself. Many a town royalty started their journey with her, others even learned to fly on blades through her involvement with the figure skating program. From the Kinette Club, the Ceilidh Trail CB Club and the running of the Community Channel she helped keep the community apprised of up and coming events and news, although strong, Darlene had a long and hard fight, our minds now know she is at rest but our hearts will take time to get there. Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Monday ,Nov 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in St. John's United Cemetery, Strathlorne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
