Catherine Ann (MacEachern), 101 of Deepdale, Inverness County, formerly from Little Judique, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 15, 2021 with family by her side in Inverary Manor, Inverness.
Born in Judique on June 2, 1920, Catherine was the daughter of the Late Donald MacEachern and Anne Margaret MacEachern.
Catherine in her younger years worked at the Lobster Factory in Judique. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was one of the best in preparing meals and baking for her family. In her younger years, she would spin the wool to knit homemade sweaters, socks and mittens for her children. She always enjoyed a good cup of tea with friends and family. She was a devoted church-goer.
Catherine is survived her children, Donnie MacDonald, Kingston, ON; Colonel (Gloria) Smith, Inverness; Rachael (Bob) McConnell, Liverpool; Gordon (Cindy), Inverside; Bernie, Inverness, and Joe, Inverness.
Grandchildren Laurie Parish, Whitby, ON; Mark Krahl, Ajax, ON; Robert Smith, Liverpool; Cathy Smith, Fredericksburg, VA, Adam Smith, (Kenzie) St.Catherines, ON; John Smith (Heidi), Sherbrooke,
Great-grandchildren, Caden and Logan Nichols, Fredericskburg, VA; Luke and James Parish, Whitby, ON; Great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Smith, Sherbrooke.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Angus Smith and her daughter, Pauline Krahl.
Family would like to thank the Inverary Manor staff for all the special care and compassion that they provided to Mom during her stay at the manor.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. in Inverness Funeral Home, Inverness.
A graveside service will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret of Scotland Parish Cemetery, Broad Cove with Father Dan MacDonald officiating.
