Catherine Gloria DeBaie

DeBaie, Catherine Gloria -- 65, passed away in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 4th, 2012. Born in Inverness on June 5th, 1946, she was a daughter of Sara Ann (O'Connor) and the late Daniel David Kennedy. She was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Inverness. Gloria recently retired from Inverary Manor where for 35 years she brightened the days of both residents and co-workers in her own special way. She loved to work in her flower gardens at home as well as paint, cook and collect sea glass as she walked her favorite beach in Inverness. Gloria especially enjoyed family get-togethers with her six grandchildren, David, Kaylyn, Ciera, Emily, Breagh and Nathan.

Gloria had a strong but gently spirit supported by her deep faith and positive outlook on life which carried her through the many challenges she faced throughout her illness.

Gloria is survived by her children, daughter Carolyn (Charlie), Lower Sackville; sons, Mark, Inverness; Warren (Jody), Inverness; and Wade, Edmonton, Alta. She is also survived by her mother, Ann Kennedy, Inverness; and her sisters, Dolores Thompson (Jim), Ottawa, Ont.; Beverly MacIsaac (John), Alymer, Ont.; Sylvia Kennedy (Bob), Toronto, Ont.; Ellen MacEachen (Gerard), Inverness; and Ann Roddick (Dale), Lower Sackville. Visitation will be held at Inverness Funeral Home on Monday, May 7th from 2-4 and -9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at 11a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

Her family gives special thanks and deep gratitude to Dr. Ron Maccormick and also to Dr. Bernie MacLean, Dr. Susie Egar and staff at ICMH for their kindness, care and love for Gloria.
