Archibald Ronald "Archie" MacDonald

(1928-2016)

Age 87, of Broad Cove, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness, the son of the late Dougall and Mary Belle (MacLellan) MacDonald, Archie was a devoted member of St. Margaret’s Parish in Broad Cove. Archie enjoyed working on his farm and getting his firewood ready for the winter. He loved playing cards, going for drives, and his cat Kitty. Archie was a loyal fan of the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He was a wonderful brother and uncle and friend. He will be forever loved and missed by his sister, Marjorie, Broad Cove; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John A., Charlie, Hughie D.; and his sister, Jessie. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., August 26 in Inverness Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am August 27 in St. Margaret’s Church, Broad Cove, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to St. Margaret of Scotland Parish Cemetery Fund, Broad Cove.
