Alexander John MacPherson

MacPherson, Alexander John - Age 55, Dunvegan, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with his family by his side on May 10, 2012. Born in Inverness on November 22, 1956, he was a son of Mary (Hart) and the late John Danny MacPherson. He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove. Alexander enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Alexander was known for his art of carpentry and lent a helping hand to whoever was in need. He always put his family first, walks on the local beach, and loved the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by all who came to know him.

Alexander is survived by his wife of 23 years, Teresa; sons, Ryan, Tyler and daughter, Tera, all of Dunvegan. He is also survived by brothers, Jimmy, Inverness; Dan (Donna), Donnie (Joanne), John Roddie (Rose), Lewie, all of Dunvegan; Duncan, Hughie, Inverness; Dennis (Tracey), Ontario; sisters, Theresa (Gene) Childs, Truro; Sarah (Jerry) Beaton, Mabou; Annie Mae (Freddie) MacDonald, New Waterford; Mary Florence Macpherson, Inverness; twin sister, Catherine (Art) MacPherson, Isabel (Roddie) MacDougall, Hays River; Jeannette (Wesley) Albers, Red Deer AB.; Evelyn (Stewart) Chisholm, Dunvegan. Alexander is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 14 at 11 am in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to St. Margaret of Scotland Parish Cemetery Fund, Broad Cove.
