Yvonne Roney

Yvonne Ethel (Offutt) Roney was born December 19, 1943 to the late Harvey and Maude Offutt in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. She was the ninth child born to the couple. Siblings Albert, Walter, Howard, Clesta, Mildred, Harvey, Maxine and Mosezelle preceded her in death. Yvonne accepted Christ at an early age and lived her life in accordance with her acceptance and belief in Christ. One of her very last statements was that she had an extreme desire to get to church. She was a devoted member of Barnes United Methodist Church. On March 6, 1965 she was united in marriage to George M. Roney, Jr. in Indianapolis, Indiana, with whom she shared over 53 happy and glorious years. This union was blessed with a loving son and daughter. Yvonne devoted her life to Christ and her Family. While providing her family with a proper and loving upbringing, she worked for over 39 years at Indianapolis Power and Light Company. Her immediate and extended Families loved her dearly. Yvonne's personality was quiet, but her contagious smile showed her love for everyone and everyone fell in love with her Her family worshipped her, and this was strongly re-enforced when others would talk about her. During her last weeks, her extended family grew with those helping to care for her at the nursing home, as they openly showed their love for her. Yvonne Roney is survived by a sister, Carlene and brother, Herbert, her Loving immediate Family; Husband, George M. Roney, Jr., Son, George (Kevin) Roney and daughter, Michele Y. Roney, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
