

Today we have gathered to celebrate the home going of Wilson Lorick, age 85, son of Henry J Lorick and Amie King who preceded him in death, born on May 6, 1938 in Corinth Mississippi. Wilson departed this life on November 17, 2023, in Indianapolis Indiana.
Wilson’s family moved from Mississippi to Indianapolis seeking better opportunities. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age. He graduated from Harry D Wood High School. Wilson was a great athlete and served as Captain of the Football, Basketball and Track Team. In addition to receiving his High School diploma, he also completed Barbering school at Wood and received his Barbering License.
During his school years he was introduced to Francis Murff and she became his High School Sweetheart and Loving Wife. They created a beautiful family consisting of six children, four boys and two girls. The Union of Wilson and Francis lasted 17 years, but their friendship continued until their deaths.
As a father he supported his children in all their endeavors. He had a great business mind and was the founder and owner of Lorick’s Barbershop, which was located on College Avenue in Indianapolis. He also would return to Harry E. Wood and Arsenal Technical High School’s Barbering programs to provide demonstrations and guidance to students. He served the Barbering Community for fifty years prior to retiring.
Wilson was an avid bowler. He participated and won several Bowling Tournaments in the Midwest. He enjoyed the simple things in life. His heart was content when he was tending to his garden, listening to the blues, cooking, canning foods from his garden, parting wisdom and full-filling his duties as member of Masonic Fidelity Lodge # 55.
Wilson leaves to cherish his life, beloved birth children: June (John, Jr) Stewart; Jeffery (Belinda) Lorick; Johnny Lorick; Jerard (Tamara) Lorick; Jeanette (Fernando) Gil Noriega and Wilson II aka Jerry (Donna) Lorick. Siblings: Sisters Lisa Lorick, Lesa Oliver-Moore, Lynea Reed-Jennings, Step Sister Debbie Black-Ford (Allen), Brothers Lamont (Constance) Lorick and Carl (Cherlyn) Lorick. A host of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
