Willard Turner, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Aug. 23, 2019 at home with family. Will was born in Columbia, Ky. to W. Earl Turner and Elizabeth Holt Turner on October 31, 1935. He went to school at Mt. Auburn, IN. He married Marilyn Ohler Chambers on April 8, 1994 in Springfield, TN.
Will was a driver for Howard Delivery for 16 years, Ulrich Chemical for 3 years, and then became owner/operator from 1999 to 2014. He was also a Referral Agent for F.C. Tucker for many years, an instructor at Roadmaster Drivers School, A-1 Drivers School, and CTS Drivers School.
Will was a veteran of Vietnam War and served in the Marines and Air Force for a total of 22 years. He was involved in the NRA, Alexandria Eagles #1771, American Legion, Fishers, In., and the Bull Terrier Club of America.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Earl and Elizabeth Turner and a brother Lucian Turner.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn Ohler Turner of 25 years; Sons, Anthony Turner (wife, Jeanne of Greenwood), Vincent Turner of Texas, Joseph Turner (wife, Sonja of Texas), James Turner (wife, Sandra of Texas), Tim Turner of Florida. Jason Chambers (wife, Jenny of Martinsville); Daughters, Elizabeth Ann Turner of Indianapolis, Melissa Turner (husband, Trey of Texas), Rhonda Burgess (husband Tony of Noblesville); Brothers, Kenneth Turner (wife, Belva of Norman, IN.), Joe Turner (wife, Terri of Columbus, IN.); Sisters, Joyce Warson of Columbus, IN. and Susan Westbrook (husband Kenny of Whiteland, IN.); 14 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and nephews, and a very special Bull Terrier, Bane.
Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. Friday, August, 30, 2019 at Crown Hill Funeral Home. A Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday August, 31, 2019 at the funeral home, with visitation 1 hour prior. Dr. Timothy Knight will be officiating the service. Willard will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the funeral home to the Welfare Trust Fund of the Bull Terrier Club of America and the Wounded Warriors Project.
