Walter Odell Jackson

Walter Odell Jackson was born February 4, 1926 to Walter and Annie Jackson in McComb, Mississippi. Walter was the youngest of twelve children.
Walter attended Fernwood High School, in McComb, Mississippi as well.
Walter accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, McComb, Mississippi. On December 31, 1944 he married Rosa D Quinn and to this union four children were born: Dorothy, Peggy, Melvin and Ruby.
In 1953 he relocated to Rochester, New York where he became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Wilson. In 2002 he united his membership to Community Life Line Christian Church, Indianapolis, IN where he faithfully attended until he became ill in June, 2019.
Walter was employed with Allied Van line as a cross country driver from 1963-1998 until his retirement prior to driving trucks he worked at Fasco Machine Company as a machine operator in Rochester, New York.
Walter was preceded in death of his wife Rosa of seventy two years, son Melvin, grandson Ethan Smith, four brothers, and six sisters. Walter leaves to cherish his memories, Sister Mary Coleman Chicago, IL, Daughters Dorothy William-Hill, Peggy (Herman) Hopson, Ruby (William) Martin, Sons Robert Earl (Sandra) Lewis, Walter (Anita) Pittman Daughter-in-Law Helen Jackson, Sister In-Laws Ina Felton, Ernestine Green, and Maggie Quinn, of Rochester, New York. Grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
