Vernon R. Skelton Jr.

Vernon Ray Skelton Jr., "Tang", of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 11, 2022. "Tang" was born in Evansville, Indiana, on November 17, 1950, to Vernon Ray Skelton, Sr., and Annie Mae Reeves. He attended and graduated from Cripus Attucks High School.

"Tang" proudly served his Country in the United States Army. Later, he worked at RCA (Radio Corporation of America) for several years. "Tang" was well known in his community and at local variety stores as "Cool Tang" because he was always dressed to the "9's" with his various signature fedora hats.

"Tang" was preceded in death by his parents; Vernon Ray Skelton Sr., Annie Mae Reeves, sisters; Wanda Mormon and Anna Bell Johnson.

"Tang" is survived by his daughter Tammy R. Skelton, son Jason Skelton, three grandchildren: Antwan Robinson, Carl Green, Jr., Vernon R. Green and niece Cathy Hart (David).

A visitation for Vernon will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208 with Reverend David Hart of Kokomo Disciples of Christ officiating.
