Thomas Michael West

Thom was born on March 18, 1955, in Indianapolis, IN, to Laura and Lyle West. He served in the Air Force for 7 1/2 years. Afterward, he worked at General Motors in welder maintenance and engineering. He was intelligent, generous, passionate, and honest. Thom had a passion for Star Trek, Route 66, and astronomy. Thom is survived by his devoted wife, Helen, and cousins, James Winebarger Jr. and Chris Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura West, and uncle, James Winebarger. Private services will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, with details to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
