Susan Lee Taylor, 64, of Indianapolis passed away on October 4th, 2017. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 15th, 1953, she was the daughter of John Mason and Betty (Bauman). Susie graduated from Indiana State University, earned a master’s degree from Indiana University, and taught special education classes in the Indianapolis Public School System for 38 years, retiring in 2013. Susie was a devoted friend, loving wife and mother. Among the things Susie enjoyed were attending plays, concerts, and playing golf. She delighted in the company of those dear to her at lunches and book club. She touched many lives beyond those of her loving family, which was evident by her many cherished friendships. Being a loving grandmother was the highlight of her life, and she enjoyed her many annual trips to Captiva Island, Florida and her frequent times spent at Lake Monroe in Bloomington.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Jerry Taylor, sons Eric Hurd, Adam Hurd (Dora) and grandchildren Lila, Sophia, Samantha and Stephanie Hurd, and brother, David Mason. Susie was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12th from 4 to 8 PM and Friday, October 13th from 11AM to 12 PM with a memorial service on Friday, October 13th at noon at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Susan G.
