Stella M Woods

Stella was born in Jackson, TN to Alice L. Cole and James Cole Sr. on June 30, 1940. Stella attended school in Jackson. She married Charles R. Woods Sr. on May 22, 1969. Stella worked for Eli Lilly and Company until she retired. Stella was an avid believer in giving to Joel Osteen Ministries, Wounded Warriors, and the Jewish Foundation. She always believed in helping those in need and less fortunate even if it was her last dime. Stella’s highest honor came from being able to provide care for her Mom, Alice L. Cole until her Mom went home.

Stella is preceded in death by James Cole Sr. (father), Alice L. Cole, (mother), Charles R. Woods Sr. (husband), step-daughter Frankye Jo Woods Leach, as well as people special and near and dear to her heart, along with sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives to her were special, however they were all too short.

Stella is survived by her children, Ramona Woods, Shelly Woods-Webb (Gregory Webb), Charles R. Woods Jr. (Yvette Woods), Genevia Woods (Vivian Brown), and Travis R. Woods (Joanne Murphy-Woods.) Her grandchildren, Antonio Lane, LaToya Lane, LaMoria Perminas, Ebony Woods, C.J. Woods, and Alonzo Woods, along with a host of great-grandchildren, adopted-in-heart children, friends, and many more to cherish her in their hearts, followed by her brothers of Jackson, TN Sylvester Cole, and David Cole.

Visitation for Stella will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Celebration of Life begins at 12:00pm, Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Joel Osteen Ministries, Wounded Warriors, and the Jewish Foundation. The family members of Stella wish to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all the caregivers, doctors, nurses, prayers, and well wishes given to our Mom, Ms. Stella M. Woods.
