SHIRLEY A. ALLEN, daughter of the late Moses and June Farmer, was born October 20, 1935, in Indianapolis, IN. She attended and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1953. At an early age, she united with True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. Later she united with Eastern Star Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr. She was a part of the Senior Saints and the Women's Sunday School Class.
She worked for the government and was employed at Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center as a clerk until retiring in 1976. She continued to busy herself with other employment at L.S. Ayres and with the I.P.S. system. She was an avid bowler and a member of W.N.B.A., enjoyed baking, and she also enjoyed fashion and modeling.
She had five children; one son, Jeffrey Adams, Sr., preceded her in death. She was a beloved mother, nana, aunt, sister and friend.
She departed this life after a brief illness at home. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy four daughters, Christia Brunson (Willie), Sharon Adams, Sheryl Adams, and Vicky Adams; one sister Helen Edmonds; seven grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
