Sharon Sue Herdman

Sharon Sue (Whalen) Herdman, 85, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2023. She was born on March 7, 1938 in Milton, IN to Marlin and Thelma. Sharon attended Arsenal Tech and graduated in 1955. She worked at Switzer Corp as a key punch operator. Sharon met Bill at Roberts Park UMC MYF and married in June 1958. Her grandfather Rev. C.P. Hert officiated the wedding.

She was a wife and mother to three daughters; Julie, Beth (Ronnie), and Amy (Tyler). Sharon was mamaw to Amanda (Austin), Matthew (Kayla), and Brittany (Charlie). She was great mamaw to Noah, Lana, Mazie, Oliver, Liliana, Gwenddlyn, Raelynn, and Paxton.

Sharon was a heritage member of Roberts Park UMC for 75 years. She was a member of Grays Fellowship hand bell choir and chancel choir. Sharon loved music and completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Herdman; and brothers, Tom and Alan.

A visitation for Sharon will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Roberts Park United Methodist Church, 401 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 401 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. A burial will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. SR. 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Roberts Park UMC.
