Roy was born on October 21, 1946 in Isola, Mississippi to the late Paul and Arsenia Stowers. God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call him home on November 28, 2022, at the age of 76, after battling a short stint of illness.
Roy attended Crispus Attucks High School where he was a standout football player. Roy loved watching sports, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a diehard Indian-apolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan. Roy was also a member of the Soul Survivor Social Club where he served as Financial Treasurer for many years.
Roy united in holy matrimony to Ruthie Garner on November 16, 1982. She remained by his side until his untimely passing. Their love and commitment towards each other were unmatched.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Arsenia Stowers; (3) brothers, James Curtis, Ernest Stowers, Mac Arthur Stowers; and (2) sisters Katherine Smith and Lorene Myers.
