Obituary of Rose A. Smith
Rose A. Smith, 88, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 6th, 2022 in Lebanon, Indiana. Rose Smith was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Helen and Peter Arnaudoff on September 30, 1934. She graduated George Washington High School in 1952. She married Alfred Smith on June 02, 1957 in St. Stephen’s Bulgarian Orthodox Church. She worked as a Customer Service Representative at Howard W. Sam’s Publishing for over twenty years. She and Alfred helped start the Dog Obedience program for 4-H in Boone County, which grew from her love for German Shepherd dogs and a desire to assist the youth of her community. Rose also was a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Central Indiana. Rose and Alfred were also part owner of the Mr. Video rental store located at 3943 N. High School Road in Indianapolis from 1985 to 1999. Rose was widely seen as a woman of incredible strength, determination and hard work. Her determination to overcome life’s challenges, and her strength and hard work in the face of hardship will be remembered by those she knew. Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, as well as her mother Helen Adams and her sister Emily Wampler. Rose is survived by her sister Stephanie MacDonald, her children Darren Smith, Jeffrey Smith (Dawn), Brian Smith (Kelly) and Lynn Wolak (Paul) and leaves nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 12th at Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery with Pastor Bob Ryan of New Day Church of Cumberland, Maryland officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Flowers and memorials may be given to Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Darren Smith would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Pike Public Library (IMCPL), and Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library for assisting my mother in enjoying her last years by providing wonderful entertainment for her.
