Robert Lee Smith

Robert Lee Smith affectionately known as “Bob” was born to Samuel B. Smith and Rosabell Smith on June 4, 1949, both preceded him in death.
Robert was born in Darlington, SC, however he was raised in Bronx, New York. Upon graduating from high school, he entered the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War for two years. During his time of service, he received a Purple Heart and numerous other medals for his acts of bravery.
Robert drove trucks for 17 years and upon retiring from truck driving, he began to work at IU Methodist for 12 years as a transporter.
Robert’s kind heart earned him the nickname “Friendly Bob”. Robert was married to his devoted and loving wife, Cynthia Smith for twenty two years. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter, love,
and memories.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia. His daughter, Roselyn (Stan). His two stepdaughters, Malika (Rodney) and Monique. His stepson, Myron (Emily). His grandchildren, Tiara, Jordan, Kyara, Zion, Dakota, Malik and Mikel Evans, Tristin, Danessa, and Eridyn. Great-grandchildren, David and Kyla. His sister, Roseann. His nephew Troy, Sr (Nilda). His great-nephew, Troy, Jr (Kim). His nieces, Deshawn and Jacqueline. Great-niece, Olivia. His Uncle Eddie (Pat). A host of other family and friends.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Kingdom Apostolic Ministries, 4900 E 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
