He attended Indianapolis Public Schools #23, #17 and Crispus Attacks High School and Ivy Tech Community College.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970 and was honorably discharged. He also served in the Army.
Robert was an employee of Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company for thirty-four years, retiring on February 20, 2004.
Robert professed a belief in Christ early in life. He was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
On September 9, 1978, he and his beloved Edith “Edie” Graves were married and blessed to enjoy nearly 43 years of love, friendship and companionship. He was a perfect example of a family man, a provider, a protector and a friend. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Robert will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Robert Earl Brewer departed this life at the age of 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunt Leona Sheffield, adopted parents A.D. Harvey and Arlena Har-vey, three brothers; Dwayne, Levi and Sam Harvey.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Edith, two sons; Robert Earl Brewer Jr., Demitre Brewer of Arizona, four daughters; Tracy (Djibril) Ndoye, Tracy Brewer, Selita Brewer of Arizona and Nikki Graves. Grandchildren; Latoya Haynes, Luckesinia Carter, Richard Berry, Trendia Hazelwood, Kameron Brewer, Kayleana Brewer, Kelese Brewer, great-grandchildren; Shariah Farr, Serina Berry, Raven Berry, Jordyn Jones, Jay’ah Jones and Dream Jones. Brothers; James Harvey, Alfred Harvey, Kenneth Harvey, Glenn Harvey, sisters; Barbara Harvey, Shirley Miles, Linda Harvey, Kathy Harvey, Christy Harvey, sisters-in-laws; Doralena Minter, Windy Graves, brother-in-law Jerry Graves and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
