Age 74 of Indianapolis IN and Bradenton Florida, passed away Monday October 20, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospice after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and clergy. Bob was born June 10, 1940 in Indianapolis, and preceded in death by his parents Robert Morris Price and Maxine Fox Price.
He graduated from Ben Davis High School, Valparaiso Technical Institute and attended Butler University. Bob received his B.S. E.E.T. degree from Purdue University. He retired from RCA/GE/Thomson/Technicolor after 41 years and served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1967. Bob was an avid gardener; was immensely proud of his garden designs and plantings. His love of travel, ancient architecture, art and music were reflected in his home and hobbies.
He was a member Pike Township Lions Club for 27 years serving as secretary, 1st and 2nd vice president and president and board of directors. Bob was also a Lions International District 25 F Governor in 1999-2000 and again in 2007-2008. He served as Lions State Youth Exchange Director, Region and Zone chair and personally hosted 16 cultural exchange students from Japan, Finland, Turkey, Germany, Italy and Brazil. Bob was awarded Lions Leadership Award from Lions international President in 2008.
In addition he was presented the Indiana Lions W.P. Woods Award in 2008 and 2014, the highest award given to an Indiana Lion member and was a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow honoree and Pike Lion of the Year in 1996-97. He participated in the Lions District 25 F Mexico Eye Glass Mission Trips for 5 years.
In 2000 he received the Sagamore of the Wabash from Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon for his humanitarian work in Lions. Bob truly lived by the Lions Motto "We Serve".
He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church for 28 years.
Bob leaves behind his devoted wife of 49 years, Patricia Jenkins. Bob and his wife met at Westlake Beach Club in 1960 were married in 1965. He is survived by three wonderful children, Christopher (Beverly), Michael, Lori (Jason); three beautiful grandchildren, Brennan, Jaxon, and Caden; two step grandchildren, Stephanie (Randy) and great grandchild, Emma, and Brandon (Stephanie).
Family and Friends may call on Sunday October 26 at Trinity Episcopal Church Fortune Room 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A Lions memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday October 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with burial at Lincoln Memory Gardens.
