Richard Hughes

Richard Hughes, age 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. Richard was born November 3, 1945 in Seymour, Indiana the son of the late William H. and Mary V. (Brown) Hughes. Richard grew up in Riviera Beach Florida and graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, was a licensed Funeral Director and a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association serving as a District Director and Board Member. He was the former owner of Ball-Porter & Hughes Funeral Home now Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana. Richard was very involved in the communities in which he lived, was a 32 Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Zorah Shrine Temple Drum Corps, Murat Shrine Highlanders Pipe Band. He was a member of Kiwanis International. Richard is survived by his wife of 26 years Delores Collins and his daughter Amy Hughes. A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 PM at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
